Human Growth Hormone and Aging
Today, there are many substances that can enhance immune response, bring greater resistance to disease and infection.
What if there were one that could also reduce body fat without dieting, increase muscle mass with exercise, and bolster energy,
strength, and stamina? How about if it also improved bone density and skin tone? And, in addition, what if it sharpened memory
and heightened well-being? Thousands of studies from all over the world have shown that human growth hormone (hGH) can have
these effects. Also known as somatotropin, hGH is secreted by the pituitary gland. Researchers long ago discovered that growth
hormone is more far-reaching than its growth-regulating role.
GH has been referred to as the "Fountain of Youth". it has astounded the medically community with its numerous
positive physiological effects on degenerative conditions related to both aging and disease. Spokes persons from the American
Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) have documented the following effects of hGH: decreasing fat tissue, increasing
lean tissue, increasing bone density, bolstering the tone and action of the heart muscle, increasing exercise capacity, improved
cholesterol profile (higher HDL and lower LDL) and improving mood and motivation. Younger thicker skin with tightening and
lessening of wrinkles, hair regrowth, sharper vision, increased memory retention, improved sleep, regeneration of tissues
in degenerative diseases have also been noted. The basic biochemical interaction necessary for these results also yield other
benefits. All of them have rejuvenating properties, including what could be called "the rejuvenation of the immune system.
"For example, because of its effects on DNA repair, hGH is more effective than antioxidants in its support of the immune
system. When DNA is not repaired, subsequent cells carry a damaged blueprint, resulting in ongoing symptoms of weakened immunity.
Growth hormone and IGF make it possible for DNA to better repair itself before cell division. This means that new cells don't
repair the damage sustained by the originating DNA. Like the other important hormones (estrogen, DHEA, etc.), hGH levels also
decline with age. Production peaks in adolescence at 780 mcg in 24 hours. Then it declines steadily, at the rate of about
14 percent each decade after age 30. to sixty, production rate is reduced by half. When we reach eighty, only about 25 mcg
are still produced. During approximately the same time, our liver, kidneys, brain, and pancreas atrophy by 30 percent. The
significant negative effects that can be observed in aging people (increases fat deposition, a reduction in energy, and decreased
immunity) are all directly related to diminished levels of hGH. In 1985, recombinant DNA technology yielded synthetic hGH.
Since that time, supplies have been virtually unlimited. With this breakthrough, children and adults identified as hGH deficient
have been receiving the help they need. Further, the FDA broadened the medical application of hGH to include the treatment
of persons suffering from wasting due to AIDS/HIV. According to the researchers at the Medical College of Wisconsin at Milwaukee,
six months of growth hormone therapy were equivalent in magnitude to the regression of aging by 10-20 years! Among the effects,
participants lost an average of 14 percent body fat and gained 8.8 percent lean body mass. Is it any wonder that youth seeking
adults and athletes wanting to optimize lean muscle mass and performance are paying $250-$2000 weekly for injections? Or that
non-prescription alternatives are showing up everywhere?
Non-Prescriptive
Non- prescriptive alternatives are far less costly than injections. They include homeopathic remedies, oral sprays, secrtalogues,
and colostrum. (Secretalogues are formulas which are said to stimulate the sercreation of hGH. hGH levels are not measured
directly. Because it is secreted in pulses mostly in the early hours of sleep, 24 hour circulation amounts are difficult to
ascertain. However, the presence of hGH signals the liver to secrete insulin-like growth factor or IGH. The presence of IGH
is relatively constant, making it convenient as a baseline measurement. For example, in one study, all participants had a
IGF baseline of less than 350 u/l. Levels rose to 500 - 1500 during treatment. Both the sprays and homeopathic remedies have
laboratory documentation showing increases in IGF levels. Both the sprays and the remedies contain very tiny amounts of recombinant
growth hormone. The sprays are in a proprietary polymer matrix which allows uptake through the palate. The manufacturer calls
it a "stimulant dose". In other words, it encourages the body to secrete hGH. The homeopathic remedy is also made
from biosynthesized hHG. In this case, the hormone is potentized. This results in minute particles recognized by the pituitary
and/or the liver. IGH and possibly hGH, is produced. The company which manufactures homeopathic hGH also produces four homeopathic
growth factors. But this is very new and expensive and somewhat synthetic. Made to clone the hGH triger hyaluronidase that
is produced in male semen. This is the enzyme which also could be uptake through the palate or swallowed. This is less expensive
but not attractive and exclucive because of a clean supply.

Remember: "Anything that is sold over the counter cannot be growth hormone, because growth hormone is regulated by
the FDA," he says. "It is hard to get the actual content of what is in these products, but they are of limited to
no value."
